NBC Sports brought me in to be the writer for Tokyo Gold, a one-hour Olympic highlights show on Peacock, hosted by Rich Eisen. I was responsible for writing on-camera leads and tags for Rich, as well as a daily tracked open tease. I sat on the studio floor, writing on the fly, and working closely with talent and producers as news broke. Oh, and because of the time difference… we pulled 20 straight all-nighters to make this show happen. It was a grind. But it was worth it.
For the last eight seasons, I’ve been the writer for NFL GameDay Kickoff, the NFL Network’s live Thursday Night Football pregame show. My responsibility each week is to write the show open, super teases, bumpers, and graphic cut lines, as well as live copy for anchor Colleen Wolfe.
Here's the open and super tease from Week 6 of the 2020 season, a pivotal matchup between the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.
Each year, the Honda Cup, the most prestigious award in Division I NCAA Women's Sports, is presented to one incredible athlete.
Since 2014, I've had the honor of being the writer for this annual live broadcast on CBS Sports Network, writing copy for hosts Jamie Erdahl and Brent Stover, as well as VO for the show open, recap packages, and features. I've also worked closely with Honda representatives and some legendary figures in women's athletics, crafting speeches and podium remarks leading up to the reveal of the next Honda Cup winner.
NFL Replay's "Game of the Week" takes the most exciting game broadcasts each week and compresses them into fast-paced, one-hour shows, complete with cinematic NFL Films footage and exclusive wired sound.
My job each week is to craft a compelling open that sets the stage, in addition to writing voiceover that frames the action and bumpers that tease the story forward. Here are a few samples from our 2017 season finale -- Super Bowl 52.
With a full slate of pivotal games commencing on December 24th, I wrote this "cold open" sketch for NFL Network's Sunday morning pregame show, NFL GameDay Morning, starring former NFL coach Steve Mariucci, based on the classic poem, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
